Well we have all heard the term The Strength of a Nation. Some of our founding fathers discussed in terms of our militia, which back then was you and I. Today we have the National Guard, and as last resort you and I. Since we have guns in this country we have a stronger set of you and I than other nations. In other words anyone who wish to attack us with conventional means would be a fool or have fools for leaders. This article or posting is of another nature. The Strength of a Nation in present time and this particular system of government would be readily thought of as our Absolute Military Might. Which if you look around and even where you are not allowed to look such as below the terminal gradient clouds coming up from the desert towering like accordian style pancakes some 20,000 feet agl coming from our tests of any poetntial enemies worst night mare. We are a nation of strength because of technology, R and D, strong willed warriors amongst us who volunteer for military service and due to our industrial might and Corporate free enterprise structure where currntly there is much money flow. When putting money into the economy killing two birds with one stone is a very viable option, we create jobs and protect our people and the rest of the world against evil. It's all good. However I submit that there is a third and even more important issue of consideration. Happiness and love of people for thier government and structure. Even Machiavelli admitted it is preferred to be both feared and loved. And in our country we have that to a large degree. And as we lead the world to peace we are once again feared and loved and often hated as would appear to be part of the human equation and not to be too worried about. It just is a human nature thing. Others wish the power we have, but we are the ones who possess it for now, hopefully for many more moons, now is not the time to sit on our laurels. I would further wish to point out as we return to this topic of our country from the last transgression. That small business is a key component to keeping peace amongst the restless natives of which we are a land of many. Having recent ancestors who came from somewhere else all of us, after all this country is still young in terms of societies and history. By allowing those who wish to take part in their American Dream through a small business of their own and use that innate DNA of Stick-to-it-ness and vitues of perserverence that drive all men to some degree, we can allow the warrior members of our society to grind it out and build for a better tomorrow for their families and for the Strength of our nation. We bring up this point due to a recent conversation at a coffee shop with a small business man who had done some work, not much, but had given his all to assist in a project for a Defence Contractor. Yet he did said work about 120 to the prior. Now then he needs to be paid, so he can pay us, so we can pay them and they can pay YOU> Do you see the strength of the Nation more clearly now. Money flow and you might cal it supply side, right side, but do not call it blind side. Because such trickle down theories are what build strength amongst the peanut gallery to try harder, work more, hire more and desire more. Thus it is also that which makes free men work harder and teach such hard work ethics to future Americans. Can you see why this component of small business and micro commerce is so essential to the strength of a Nation. Not just any Nation, the greatest Nation to have served it's people in all the recorded history known to our current world. Let us go over the figures. First 2/3 of all Americans are employed by small businesses. When those people are employed and can enjoy the freedoms of this Nation, they will participate more, and use those freedoms, such as the freedom to travel. This week we see all the major airlines and even smaller ones such a Jet Blue, America West, etc with increased loads. This means America is participating more. If we create money to flow into the economy and simultaneously use it to strengthen our nation through defense contractords, R and D, etc and allow that to get into the hands of the free-est of free enterprise micro components such as small business we will all win. Order will go up, tax investment credits will be taken advantage of and more jobs for Americans. Our strength is in our people. Ronald Reagan was so quick to point this out, Calvin Coolidge, Our current President uses the term RESOLVE, yah no kidding, look what our resolve can do. Liberating a whole country in a couple weeks. God Bless America. Now then realize with stock prices down but climbing again and leading us by the typical 6 months on the economic prosperity side we are seeing good numbers from many fronts in many sectors of the economy. This deflationary thought process is BS. Deflation too much of it is bad, but look for a little inflation coming soon, which we can stand and of course that pays off all the debt borrowing too. It's all good can't you see? Now then when large companies hold onto cash flow and you hear CEOs, CFOs, COOs, Chairmen, Directors, etc talk, you will listen and know they have signed off on their books, putting themselves on the line. Thus they have to be beholden to the stock holders, class action attorneys, SEC etc. Therefore the fear of letting go of any cash on the books and paying recievables down to the small business might come last. When it does no new investment is made and no new jobs are created this week. If they pay next week, then jobs will be created then. If they pay next month, well then next month is when those jobs will take hold, and if they pay in 180 days then of course there you have it. So then in our Nation, a Nation of Strength, we must remember from hense we came. GE, Disney, DELL, Microsoft, Apple, etc, etc the list is so long I cannot even tell you all the books I have read and biographies of household names of entrepreneurs with humble beginnings. They all started small, grinded it out, builded to last and finished big. Why, because that my friends is the American Way and that is small business. So when the regulators of OSHA, EPA, State Regulatory Bodies, City Planning Commissions start working with small business they will grow, but they cannot grow until they get paid. If the retained earnings of these companies continues when that money is owed to small business for work already completed or products or services already delivered then so will flexed muscle remain limp. If you want the economy to get a shot in the arm, give it to the small business. Allow the large businesses some slack so they feel comfortable to release such payments. You see we can have it all, because we are all on the same team. We are all with us, you see. That is the American Spirit of Unity, which no one can break. America will never, ever, ever, ever give up and you can count on the small businesses of this country to re-invest that money as soon as they get it. That is the nature of small business, small businesses always build to the future. The strength of a Nation, this nation in particularly is tri-fold. Never forget the ground floor, after all isn't that what we are protecting. ---- Not all of this, was discussed in the coffee shop today, but it did lead to this thought.
