Here is an interesting idea about underwater unmanned vehicles. Note this page: http://www.deepangel.com/html/the_squall.html . Now let's say we built a Shkval II type torpedo. We could fire it and have it leave the water near the target and wings would come out and it is already doing 200 knots, so it would then be airborne and terrain following and guided by the Awacs. It could remain asleep at the bottom of the ocean until needed. You could fight an entire war from un manned subs 60 miles off the coast of anywhere hiding in an underwater trench. Once the torpedo is airborne it could be guided by anything, two satellites and two awacs, three satellites and one drone. Four satellites, two drones. Another torpedo, one drone and one awacs and one satellite. Whatever configuration you want to have. The underwater sub has nothing to worry about and is safe, the enemy never sees you, they donot even know where it came from or who fired it. This type of technology is also great to guard our beaches. Underwater subs resting below can come to the surface when called upon to greet unwanted visitors. In the case of International Pirates, Terrorists, illegal alien criminals, it could serve much purpose.
