As science advances and DARPA spends money to protect us from evil, we are seeing some emergence of this technology into the private sector, such technology releases assist the United States on staying leading edge in her efforts. Centurion has come out with a Diesel Engine for General Aviation, it works well; http://www.centurion-engines.com/company/press_back_2.htm ------ And to keep these aircraft quiet they have innovative mufflers, which are good for a more stealthy operation; http://www.nasatech.com/Briefs/Jan99/LEW16324.html . Others are also working on this concept and together the competition ought to bring a whole new era to general aviation as well as bring on a new concept of increased TBOs. http://www.avweb.com/news/reviews/182838-1.html . Honda Research is teaming up with the US to produce a more efficient motor also; http://www.eaa.org/communications/eaanews/030304_tcm_honda.html . Everyone who is anyone is working on these issues, people like Burt Rutan along with his ego will never give up, he always has another act and tough ones to follow too. http://www.isepp.org/Pages/02-03%20Pages/Rutan-2.html . Some of this technology is fairly revolutionary and that is exciting considering the old them of an aircraft with wings flying under its own power. http://www.ece.uic.edu/~mazumder/ ----- You just have to love the ability of americans to dream and create and just get it done many times against all odds; http://www.altpowermag.com/issues/100402.htm ----- http://www.aero-space.nasa.gov/curevent/news/vol3_iss4/eengines.htm . Tesla wpuld be proud and even more proud when an electromagnetic craft is made which can fly under it's own power. If you have ideas, concepts, prototypes of possible aircraft motors that are revolutionary email me; Lance@carwashguys.com
