The over the road trucks in this country use nearly 500,000 gallons of oil per year in their engines. The largest and only real nationwide company which changes oil for trucks is Speedco. Flying J and other large truck stops also have many oil chage garages but do a number of things including oil changes. Speedco is not cheap they charge $139.95 per oil change and that is about 10-30 dollars more than nearly all the others. of course they offer additional check points for this price and promise to get you out in 30 minutes, which for a trucker is a really important issue. Speedco started in 1991 and in the next 12 years have serviced almost 2 million trucks. Each facility averages $4500 gross per day. Averaging 31 - 39 trucks per day. The company does nearly 360,000 trucks per year. 11,000 trucks per year per location. Impressed yet? 1.7 million dollars per year per facility. The average over the road full time truck has about 10 oil changes per year. Where as the average car has maybe two at a price of $12.99 at Wal-Mart or $26.00 per year. At Speedco they see it as $1,399.50 per year per truck and that is just oil changes not to mention fluid changes, transmissions, etc. Why do we care? http://www.OilChangeGuys.com
