Drought Emergency Disaster Assistance: http://www.bizjournals.com/albuquerque/stories/2002/08/12/daily27.html?f=et201 There are ways to save water and they are seriously working on them; http://www.abqtrib.com/archives/news02/061702_news_jailwell.shtml . There are many places to save water in your home; http://forums.gardenweb.com/forums/load/rmgard/msg0417065026668.html . http://www.fguardians.org/news/n991121.html . And it appears North in Colorado the water wars are already starting there. And in Colorado they are predicting at least another intense year of drought. http://www.bizjournals.com/denver/stories/2002/08/12/daily53.html?f=et61 Now when you have big fires you use lots of water and that water could be hurting the 5 plus billion dollars a year in agriculture in CO, but think of places like CA and they too have water issues and lots of agriculture. What is even a greater concern and no one is talking about is the problem of less water and the same amount of pollution in the less water. Why, because the concentration is higher, this is very bad. Here is one easy to do local program to promote education amongst the restless natives. http://www.safedrain.com/html/default.html Stenciling Program and community support project. Here is some more interesting information for you on the Environmental front; Environmental News. Eberline becoming larger company in Environmental response. http://www.bizjournals.com/albuquerque/stories/2002/08/12/daily5.html?f=et201 Interestingly enough this company started quite small and is growing fast. Andy Grove has it right; http://www.bizjournals.com/sanjose/stories/2002/08/05/daily59.html?f=et79 . And regarding all this water or lack of it, who controls it? Who? This is interesting; Who really owns what? French http://www.bizjournals.com/memphis/stories/2002/08/12/daily1.html?f=et67 . In TX the billionaires are fighting to hold all the water rights as the populations keep increasing and less and less water is available. http://www.tnrcc.state.tx.us/admin/topdoc/gi/228/ and just think of the uses of water, for recreational boating, fishing, hydro, drinking, etc. ------------------------------------------------------- What is happening on the Lay off fronts? IBM confirms it will lay off 15,600 people, http://www.poughkeepsiejournal.com/projects/ibm/bu072701s1.shtml , http://www.informationweek.com/story/IWK20020814S0001 , http://news.yahoo.com/fc?tmpl=fc&cid=34&in=business&cat=downsizing_and_layoffs , those are real people you know. People who are like you and I and have families and dreams. And if you think companies are the only ones in trouble check out what is happening to state governments http://www.bizjournals.com/triad/stories/2002/08/19/daily5.html?f=et84 As I have said we need to downsize government, they are top heavy and spend to much on stupid things and cannot budget their money and will not sign off on their books to the public. They are being cut from the good graces list of the credit raters, why? Because they should, but what does this due to their bonds, which old ladies have in their retirement portfolios? This criminal activity is un bearable and all these politicians who caused this to happen should be investigated and some should be thrown in jail. HA HA HA, How does that feel for a change? And last time I checked things are not rocketing upward as fast as government bureaucracy is messing them up. If you read the latest beige book you will see what I mean. Hey at least WashGuys are now hiring. ---------------------------------------- Let’s talk about the types of fraud out there. http://southflorida.bizjournals.com/southflorida/stories/2002/08/12/editorial3.html Now that we have identified all the major frauds in the US , perhaps we can concentrate on those, then education people and then eliminate or cut down the size of staff of all state attorney generals and the FTC---- A Securities Fraud Hotline was established to collect information and give it to the FBI. This was a highly publicized multi-jurisdictional and agency effort. Now they are looking for not lap top computers that they lost but actually whistle blowers to turn in their bosses. They say the first day they got over 25 phone calls after blasting it on every station in the Bay Area. Whoopee. Who did they get calls from? Competitors, disenchanted former employees, etc. Interesting how they are turning here say into case to justify their own existence and the meanwhile expecting us to all play along and not even look at the fact that if they had to pay for all the PR Hype it would have been double that of Yahoos, quarterly advertising expenditure. Must be nice pointing fingers all day. Cans someone buy these folks a mirror please. WHAT HAPPENED TO AL THOSE LAP TOPS? HEELLLLOOOOOO? http://www.bizjournals.com/sanjose/stories/2002/08/05/daily56.html?f=et79 What is so funny is that the scam artists are now laughing at the Agencies and using the agencies to do their dirty work. A scam artists Indentity theft criminal call you up and says this is the Attorney general of the State of CA, and we need to verify your information and account numbers to see if you are in fact the same “Mrs. Smith” that we have as we caught the perpetrator with your personal information. Please give us you social security number and bank account numbers so we can check?
