Natural Gas Issues. There have been many incentives for businesses and industries to use Natural Gas to assist in clean burning fuel. Natural Gas is a big issue. http://www.peoplesenergy.com/main/business_natural.html . The DOE has some interesting studies on this; http://eia.doe.gov/emeu/mecs/trends/number_estab.htm . Today I received an email from the DOE. And Stephanie was good enough to point us to these sites: http://www.eia.doe.gov/emeu/mecs/mecs98/datatables/contents.html#fuel and ftp://ftp.eia.doe.gov/pub/consumption/industry/d98n3_1.xls . What this shows is that many industries will be adversely effected. This will hurt the United States position in the world markets for products and services putting us at a disadvantage. Also it will mean higher costs and mean increased inflation for consumers and many jobs lost by companies unable to compete. The worst part of it is the incentives previously given to businesses to switch to cleaner burning fuel and now those who complied and followed the responsible cause due to political pressure from the left are now the ones getting burned. Why? Due to the increased bureaucracy, regulations, NIMBY, Liberal Left who made the promises in the first place. This is nearly as bad a play from the liberal left as the eco-terrorists destroying buidlings and putting tons of CO2 and combusted material into the atmopsphere? Now that is special. What a contradiction. Do what I tell you not as I do? It is okay to mislead the business community and when they give you an inch you turn around and screw them over with higher costs and potential bankruptcy forcing families out of work, exactly how can you have quality of life pushing a Pigly Wiggly Shopping Cart? These are serious issues folks. And this is one reason that the stoppage of drilling for natural gas off the coast of Maine is a serious issues. Care to discuss these real issues?
