We would like to discuss Athletes, Kids, Roll Models. Mentors and Our Vision for Car Wash Guys to help the Common Good and why Atlanta or Los Angeles are the best places to try our plan. We recently had the fortunate experience to talk to the founder of: BLACC Thing, Inc. = Black Leaders Activated to Change Our Communities. You can understand the passion of this gentleman by his vision. We have studied the needs in Atlanta more than other places due to our interests in the Georgia Market as an excellent hub market point with significant strategic value in the entire South and Southeast US. When touring GA you learn about the diverse markets and cities and towns. http://www.carwashguys.com/tour_hampton.shtml and http://www.carwashguys.com/tour_augusta.shtml . It is without a doubt a most unique state in it’s location and demographics. And the capital of Georgia, Atlanta; http://www.carwashguys.com/tour_ga.shtml holds the key to a stronghold of upward mobility for Black Americans leaving the history of the South and Slavery far behind them, almost as if it never existed at all. They are proof of that there is nothing inferior in human beings which can be found in the color of ones skin. Atlanta is quite similar to Los Angeles in that there are fewer and fewer ceilings to Black Americans in the boardrooms or higher education classrooms. Black Americans in Atlanta like Los Angeles make up a great deal of the upper echelon in the corporate world. http://www.carwashguys.com/tour_cocacola.shtml . Many Yuppie achieved Black Americans need to identify with their culture as well as develop a common bond for others who wish to succeed and break away from the problems associated with the Ghettos, hoods and poor towns. When we discussed this recently with an up and coming star in the Black Community we realized that many Achieved Black Americans are giving back, despite the articles in the WSJ about them leaving the areas and not offering assistance. It may be true that some Black American Superstar Athletes and Business Men have closed the door behind them, but it really does appear to be the exception to the rule not the average. Many Black American leaders have establish Christian-based organizations that focused on the needs of the "hood" and the youth that were attempting to pattern themselves after the drug dealers, gangster rappers and arrogant immature professional athletes that were driving the same type of cars we were renting. We found this to be the case with the Founder of BLACC Thing, Inc. Many also interpret the Famous Black American athletes in this way, but we also found some reasons behind this in interviewing them personally and our franchisees had found this when talking to them and detailing their cars. We have also seen the arrogance of the athletes up close and personal as we have washed and detailed for the San Francisco 49's, Denver Broncos, Phoenix Suns, Jacksonville Jaguars. Lots of famous and professional people have been serviced by our franchisees and some have chosen not to use our services and even said so on CNN: http://www.carwashguys.com/073102_5.shtml . The arrogance is unnerving at times, even bragging about not be a show boat? Go figure? But the diamonds are also so awesome it is unbelievable. Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods and Magic Johnson, etc. now those guys deserve Congressional Medals of Honor. Total class act. I read an article about Kelen Winslow in the Miami Herald this week about some of his comments and he seems like he is a decent guy and really in to the game. Arrogant yes, but is a good way, in a way for the love of the game but still they pound on him in the media, because he is the son of a great ball player too. Being a former track star myself, (great athlete without the money or the super-fame status), I have had my brush with arrogance, but not the run away attitudes of those guys with the 17 inch wheels, GPS, Video, HUD Display, top of the line sports cars, accelerating out of the parking lot refusing auto graphs after practice and nearly running over fans on their way out? It is sickening, but some of these guys say they see the same people every day trying to get autographs who turn around the next day to sell that autograph on eBay. So they get angry and I certainly understand. Imagine people pretending to be your friend and then selling your autograph on Ebay? We at the Wash Guys I also feel as you about the problems of our youth and see the great advantage a Sports Hero, Entertainer or High Achieving Member of society can have when mentoring kids from the inner city. And by the way God Bless now Governor Arnold Schwarznegger, while we are on this subject. If these youth get into sports, have mentors, hobbies and good friends they do well in school and every thing. But even good kids can get into enormous problems by the company they keep and this stays with them and seems to follow them through life. It is a huge problem in this country. GA of course being no exception, I have briefly studied the problems in GA and the Black-White issues (self segregation) much unspoken but you can just feel the tension some times. I do not like it, but it is certainly becoming less as the old timers die and every decade it changes. Growing up in Los Angeles area is much different (even thought the cities are so similar), but the issue are also around you, luckily the people have chosen to do something about it so things have gotten better, much work to still be done. Here are some of the mentoring ideas we had and have seen done in GA. Good stuff and it makes a difference. The more we do as a whole and the more that give back the faster we can move forward. http://www.parthe.net/_cwg0703/0000007f.htm and http://www.parthe.net/_cwg0703/00000084.htm and http://www.parthe.net/_cwg1003/0000004a.htm and http://www.parthe.net/_cwg1003/00000060.htm and http://www.parthe.net/_cwg1003/00000061.htm and http://www.parthe.net/_cwg1003/00000012.htm . The Founder of the BLACC Thing also says: “In an attempt to show these youths that church people can "bling" also, we would align ourselves with the major Black churches in the area to provide them with their automotive needs (both personal and professional) while putting our business right in the faces of the very youth that they served.” While referring to how a mobile business and church based endeavor could accomplish many things. Tie this in with famous athletes and getting kids out of the “hood” in their mind and help them find mentors and roll models of another kind could in fact be just the ticket and answer. We agree and had come up with this plan for churches so they have the resources they need to assist in the program: http://www.parthe.net/_cwg1203/00000011.htm . In the plan of the Founder of BLACC Thing, Inc. he felt they could supply the organizations with any limos, parade cars or airport shuttle vehicles that they needed free of charge. He also envisioned a fleet of coaches to loan for church outings. And in addition would show the youth that those "individuals" that were mentioned above such as the arrogant athletes with bad public attitudes and Rap Stars with bad attitudes and vindictive and hostile lyrics and drug dealers with nice cars, cash, jewelry and women did not hold the lock on the only routes to the prosperity. And that some of these roll models were fakes and needed to be able to afford to rent or own the type of cars we were buying and renting. He envisioned showing these youth all the alternative routes through the sponsoring of youth rallies, provision of summer employment, establishment of scholarships for school, etc. We believe this is the correct thing and are also building a website: http://www.Black-History.org . The Founder of BLACC Thing, Inc. would do this all in the name of "the bling" while bringing the word of God to the youth in their vocabulary and vernacular. He was questioned by his attorney about these philanthropic efforts and he would emphatically reply: Paul... “You simply don't understand...it's a Black Thing!". It struck has struck deep chord within their entire team. The phrase stuck. And it is important for White Americans who are attempting to control the efforts to achieve unity amongst the races do not understand the “not invented here” problem where the best plan will not work unless the people it serves like it and accept it. This is why it is a Black Thing and if you don’t get it now, you never will and if you try to force things to work against the will of those you impose it on it never can you see? Another reason why the Car Wash Guys believe that the Bush Plan to allow the churches to assist can work as long as the government stays out of it and simply funds it with visionaries of character and not opportunists of self indulgence. He ultimately envisioned a 2-pronged community outreach service: First, He would develop an organization devoted to providing community-based programs with assistance in obtaining govt. and private funding as well as connecting them to local and national businesses for solicitation of needed resources (a charity-to-charity referral service, if you will). We would basically help charities help themselves. In this way we could help far more people with the same amount of resources. Second, He plans to would develop a Christian-based development company along the lines of Jimmy Carter's "Habitat for Humanity" as the yard stick and organizational model. This company would purchase old housing projects and contract with local prisons to use inmates released on work furloughs as labor to rehab these boarded up govt. housing projects. These inmates (preferably youths) would work under subcontractors rebuilding the dilapidated tenements while learning a journeyman's trade. We would then sell the units to individuals graduating from the welfare-to-work programs being developed by the government. We would then be able to mainstream the inmates more feasibly upon release and thereby cut down on recidivism. I got this idea from the city. During the preparation for the 1996 Olympics He noticed that the city spent a great deal of money and energy (but not inmates) rehabing the projects in the direct line-of-sight of the in-town Olympic venues. Which no doubt looked good to our visitors and the residents of these projects got a much needed leg up; however, the wrong people made the money or at least it was not spread around correctly where it could have done the most good you see? The Founder of the BLACC Thing, Inc. was in the Auto Detailing Business and kind of still is and was able to meet. After all, anyone with a car is my potential customer. The more an individual felt about his/her car, the more he would I want them as a customer. Therefore; not only did this business have the potential to supply him with the money he needed to fund any projects for the common good that he chose to develop, but He also had the opportunity to meet the very people I would need to call upon for help in his philanthropic endeavors. This is what made his business (this type of mobile business especially lends itself towards helping the common good) such an important vehicle for generating funds to help him with the need to serve in his mind. We can certainly see this in our efforts to help too, here are some of the great things in community we were able to do in the early years of our franchise development: http://www.carwashguys.com/history/museum1.shtml . We have designed The Car Wash Guys Franchise as that sort of organization which supports local communities and it is part of our vision as well: http://nashville.bizjournals.com/nashville/stories/2000/11/06/smallb2.html . By developing the leadership and mentoring to the youth we can keep them on the right track and it is these very individuals that drive the "train of empowerment" Says the owner of the BLACC Thing, Inc. He goes on to say: “Let God clean your Heart. Let us clean everything else.” What do you think? Well I do not know about you, but I like it. Why do I like this so much being a Car Wash Entrepreneur? Because the kids need good role models though and these guys need to chill out and understand the hope and dreams they can build be being responsible. It is hard to take the warrior gene out of a professional athlete. The killer instinct that got them there in the first place and all that testosterone, needs to be channeled and accounted for, it is misunderstood. When I look at the Super-super stars of their sports, you know people like; Lance Armstrong, Pele, Wayne Gretsky, Tiger Woods, Magic Johnson, I have to just think wow, what these guys can do simply be saying; "Hey don't do drugs" "Don't act like that" "Be the best at everything you do" well those are such powerful statements. I know all these football and rappers do not owe anybody anything, but the good they can do by simply trying a little is HUGE. When I see 12-15 olds dressing like gangsters, playing the gangster rap, I think, do you even know what you are celebrating? Do you even understand the message you are projects and what this mannerism does for your choices in life, future success, brushes with the law, etc. Those athletes I mention along with great biographies of business leaders, Presidents, philosophers, scientists, are all my mentors. Although I cannot meet them all personally, I read everything I can find about all of them. http://www.carwashguys.com/0021803_2.shtml I am working on a whole new thing which is different from the franchise on the web site for Detail Guys http://www.DetailGuys.com . Maybe this might be a way you can help me help all those areas of Atlanta as a test market. Reduce the problems of the inner city, give kids a chance and stop the ruining of the suburbs as kids take these attitudes with them to middle class neighborhoods and end up ruining their lives by getting into trouble. We must keep the kids off the drugs, slow the progress of "bad gang" recruitment. I believe the church and strong youth groups can solve this problem but I believe we can help them do it better and faster. This is why we developed this plan of attack at The Car Wash Guys: ------------- Option #8; Church, Mosque, Temple, Non-Profit Group franchise. This is a franchise limited in scope to fundraising operations in a community. See www.lancewinslow.org and fundraising. The franchise fee is a one-time $5,000 fee. Training is necessary for at least two individuals of the congregation including a youth group coordinator. You will be trained for setting up and running fundraising events. The equipment can be a trailer unit and the cost for non-profits is $8,000; it is a scaled down unit for this purpose. We can also make options on these units for a small additional fee to serve as disaster response units which will allow the tanks to be used for drinking water, and lights and electricity from generators used for power. Also, a spray tip for higher volumes of water to put out fires and a spill containment devise to prevent environmental problems. These extra features will cost approximately $4,000 to $6,000. This way your organization can help its members in case of calamity and in the face of adversity. It may also assist firefighters in the crucial minutes before their arrival to prevent extensive damages. See; http://www.carwashguys.com/history/museum230.shtml and http://www.carwashguys.com/history/museum140.shtml . It can also be modified to remove ice from roofs, see http://www.homewashguys.com . It can also be used to pressure wash the facilities; http://www.ConcreteWashGuys.com , playground equipment http://www.carwashguys.com/innews16.shtml , and shuttle buses http://www.BusWashGuys.com . You may also rent the unit out to other non-profit groups for fundraising events or even to your local franchisee of The Car Wash Guys when he or she needs an additional unit to service demand. We also allow non-competing washing in your area so you may allow a member of your organization to earn monies to get back on their feet without depleting the groups funds. If there is no Car Wash Guys franchise in your area you may exercise this practice or have first rights to purchase a business for your organization to earn money in the public domain by the use of a clean business. We are not offering this franchise in all areas. There will be additional miscellaneous costs associated with this franchise and if you qualify, these will be disclosed to you at the appropriate and required time before purchase. ----------------------- We have developed another version of this "attached" to be more specific in the needs of the Churches. My thoughts are if you teach kids a skill, they develop confidence and learn entrepreneurship and build strength of character. Because if you have that, then you really can "Just Say No." http://www.carwashguys.com/history/museum171.shtml and http://www.carwashguys.com/history/museum44.shtml and http://www.carwashguys.com/history/museum70.shtml and The Car Wash Guys are very getting people set up in business that have this vision and adding this to all the churches in the whole state of GA and then use that model for the rest of the country. These issues exist in nearly every single state. Some areas are of course much worse. Let’s take Newark, NJ for instance, it takes a super star just to make it out of that neighborhood or to reach their 25 TH birthday without being hauled off to prison or being shot to death? Well that is certainly a tough neighborhood like Compton CA, Miami, Detroit, Chicago, outside NYC, We can do some major good things as a Company but also as a country if we pay attention to what works. Big, great and wonderful things for this country. No one else has been able to pull it off to that degree yet. But it can be done. And The Car Wash Guys are certainly postioned better than any other company to start such a trend. Even for a White Guy I can understand the concept of "The Bling" Like a light bulb which just goes off in your head? An idea, which just hits you like a bolt of bright light>? "The Bling" is that it? I like it and how do you feel about the Bling? It is not only a Black Thing it is a new thing and something that could become very trendy with the right set of PR people? And I understand the "Bling" too. People always have questioned all The Car Wash Guys philanthropy and attitude towards helping the common good. It has served us well no doubt. The trick is to build the business so big while simultaneously helping the communities you serve better themselves that you have all the resources you need to make it happen. This is why Bill Gates is one of my personal favorites in many respects because of all they are doing with their own money to help problems in the world and issues, which need to be addressed. And in the South no one can deny that Jimmy Carter is a stud with all he has done, showing up to pound nails himself and leading with example. Wow. I am impressed. He is an awesome guy. This is why I always buy peanut butter and celery as a snack. I am a big time fan of his endeavors with Habitat for Humanity and as I travel the country and see similar projects like what the Chamber of Commerce is doing in El Paso I am quite pleased to see people still helping people. Car Wash Guys are proud of Jimmy Carter, although, I too am also a fan of the other side of the political spectrum too. You know the charity helping idea I have thought of and seen the greatness when everyone works together towards the common good: http://www.carwashguys.com/0122702_1.shtml You know what is good about this is that when you find people, having lived by humble means and so dedicated to the cause and with what we have done already at Car Wash Guys you can see how to do so much with so little actual money. The maximizing of resources would be truly incredible. And if we could stop crime in Atlanta and send these kids with all their energy back onto the Success Fast Track, we could do miracles you know. And no matter, which cities we try this in, that model can be used the world over. Fixing America First and then charging across the globe to fix the whole of Humanity. Anyone with a car is a potential customer or contact to enlist in the army of do-gooders needed to take us to the future destiny of a peaceful tomorrow. Any astute individual could see the truth in such simple logic yes? I wonder why so many people miss that? It seems to be obvious to me. And since God made dirt on the first day it gets all over everything too. And you know what; "It Was Good" and it still is good. "Dirt does not discriminate, why should we?" We can teach kids to detail cars, raise money, build teamwork, get other businesses to do the same in their fields. We really could solve all the problems and what a perfect model it would be to take across the land? The founder of BLACC Thing, Inc. is correct. Traveling the country in search of such excellence: http://www.carwashguys.com/campaigns.shtml I spend much of my time observing these issues in our society and get so upset because it is all fixable. I really, really like this idea of his, I think it could work across the nation. Regarding the business part of this discussion. I am in agreement with the “grid strategy to make sure no child or youth is left behind in our plan to change the world. We layout each of the towns in grid sectors. Atlanta is laid out nicely for that, it could be a starting point. I believe in the grid marketing methods of this business, here are some abstract thoughts on that subject matter; http://www.parthe.net/_cwg1202/00000029.htm Now then what kind of people should be selected to run each grid? Some one who has gone through the school of hard knocks. Regarding the school of hard knocks, I understand and have battle scars myself. So do many other leaders of past periods such as Ray Kroc drove around in his car at 55 years old totally broke for five years setting up the first McDonalds franchises, every one of his so called business partners ripped him off. The founder of JaniKing practically lived in his car for years setting up accounts. Tom Monahan from Dominos Pizza went BK three times. I have read the Trump Trilogy Books too. Yes if they can do it surely anyone who has been through hell to get to where they were going is a good candidate. Even Sam Walton traveled the country in a motor home for 10 years finding sites. The only truth to success is to never give up. Perseverance is the key. Such as a quasi-business, non-profit based endeavor could self-generate the funds to help with important endeavors. Plus we could clean up the environment also and teach environmental awareness along the way as our team of washers would be cleaning the world of crime and dirt without polluting: http://www.carwashguys.com/vegasepa.shtml and http://www.carwashguys.com/stormdrainprot.shtml and http://www.carwashguys.com/cyoung.shtml and http://www.carwashguys.com/040602_1.shtml and http://www.carwashguys.com/reclaimdevise.shtml and http://www.truckwashguy.com/reclamation.shtml and http://www.truckwashguy.com/mobileunits.shtml and http://www.truckwashguy.com/environment.shtml and Atlanta could certainly use our help like many large cities throughout the country regarding the issues with water conservation and droughts, we are familiar with these issues in Atlanta area and around our nations beautiful water-ways: http://www.parthe.net/_cwg1003/00000014.htm These issues are significant in many regions. With regards to the sewer issues, we have read about this in Atlanta also. We believe all these combined issues will assist our team their because it will eliminate much of the non-compliant pollution generating roaming nomad unlicensed competitors in the region allowing us a clean wide path to move quickly. Although as it stands the number of competitors in that market of Atlanta which is similar to markets across the country in each state and metro area do explain the healthy market and strength of desire for such services, people love their cars, we can help them love thy neighbor too.
