Car Wash News Online for the Car Wash Guys and Carwash Professionals. In this letter we discuss, Innovations in Transportation, Water, Droughts, Environmental Issues Car Radar controls getting better: http://www.usascan.com/pdf/LRD767.pdf . And you might say we have come a long way. http://www.parthe.net/_cwg0703/0000001a.htm http://www.parthe.net/_cwg0703/0000000e.htm and the Honda Early Warning crash systems: http://www.parthe.net/_cwg0703/00000014.htm and Smart Transportation: http://www.parthe.net/_cwg1203/00000016.htm and http://www.parthe.net/_cwg1203/0000005e.htm and http://www.parthe.net/_cwg1203/00000063.htm and of course other methods of intelligent transportation: http://www.parthe.net/_cwg1003/0000005e.htm and http://www.parthe.net/_cwg1203/0000000f.htm and http://www.parthe.net/_cwg0803/00000083.htm . But have we also come a long way to have all our technologies stolen? Hmmm? Japanese Investigators raid Intel Chip Plant? http://www.bizjournals.com/sanjose/stories/2004/04/05/daily47.html?f=et79 . This has some serious implications. Big problems for International Trade, International Law, anti-American selective prosecution and think we started it all? One thing we can say is in the near future we will take the a big bite out of the 40,000 plus deaths a year on our highways. With all the SmartCar Technologies in Transportation: http://www.parthe.net/_cwg1003/0000005e.htm and http://www.parthe.net/_cwg1203/0000005e.htm . As we study the flows of transportation we are pretty certain this will continue: http://www.parthe.net/_cwg1003/0000005e.htm . ------------------------------ What else will most likely continue? Well the droughts around the World. This just in today: Source: http://www.IdahoStatesman.com - ID, Scores of lawyers, lawmakers and water experts convened Friday to lay the foundation for what state leaders hope will be a long-term solution to Idaho´s water supply situations http://www.idahostatesman.com/Story.asp?ID=65076 Yah, Lawyers are going to solve our water supply issues? DAH, yah like what are they going to do piss in the water to add to the supply? Probably, no, waste more time in committees is more like it. Maybe we should advise them how to keep their debris and laws out of the gutter? For instance read these links: Here are several of our current and former projects: http://www.carwashguys.com/fundraisers/ch2.html and http://www.carwashguys.com/awarded.html and http://www.carwashguys.com/vegasepa.shtml and http://www.carwashguys.com/boatlaunch.shtml and http://www.carwashguys.com/fireseason.shtml and http://www.carwashguys.com/reclaimdevise.shtml and http://www.truckwashguy.com/reclamation.shtml and http://www.truckwashguy.com/mobileunits.shtml and http://www.truckwashguy.com/environment.shtml and As you can see, in our industry we are so far ahead of the curve in environmental washing we have left everyone in the dust. Also in washing technologies for water efficiency, we can wash cars with 2.4 - 4.0 gallons of water. The impending drought will be no problem as we expand our operations to wash everything in the world. www.ewashguy.com . Here are some links of value for you: http://parthe.net/_cwg1003/00000014.htm http://www.carwashguys.com/073102_6.shtml and http://www.carwashguys.com/cyoung.shtml and http://www.carwashguys.com/0102402_2.shtml and http://www.carwashguys.com/vegasepa.shtml and http://www.carwashguys.com/solution.pdf and http://www.truckwashguy.com/reclamation.shtml and http://www.detailguys.com/nw68.shtml and http://www.carwashguys.com/0031603_11.shtml and http://www.detailguys.com/nw41.shtml and http://www.carwashguys.com/fundraisers/ch2.html and http://www.carwashguys.com/0112102_1.shtml and http://www.carwashguys.com/0041003_7.shtml and http://www.detailguys.com/nw3.shtml and http://www.carwashguys.com/081502_3.shtml and http://www.carwashguys.com/081402_2.shtml and http://www.carwashguys.com/082902_1.shtml and http://www.carwashguys.com/082602_1.shtml and http://www.truckwashguy.com/environment.shtml and http://www.parthe.net/_cwg900/000000c5.htm and http://www.parthe.net/_cwg900/000000cd.htm and http://www.parthe.net/_cwg701/00000018.htm and http://www.parthe.net/_cwg0803/0000000b.htm We will continue to discuss these issues since they affect the Flow of Water, http://www.parthe.net/_cwg1003/00000014.htm which affects the car wash business to a large degree. Another thing affecting the flow is the flow of car washes when some one is shot at a car wash Man shot at car wash, a man was shot, killed at 10th Street car wash in Orange TX; Source: Orange Leader - Orange, TX, Around 8:30 pm Friday, Norris McGhee was quietly washing his car when a gun shot rang out across the car wash. http://www.orangeleader.com/articles/2004/04/04/news/news1.txt . Of course we have previous reported on Crime at Car Washes: http://www.parthe.net/_cwg900/000000db.htm and http://www.parthe.net/_oilchangeguys/00000064.htm and http://www.parthe.net/_cwg1003/00000079.htm . But water is in the news lately and that seems to be hurting fixed site car washes even more than the crime at the competitors car washes. For instance here are some recent articles this month about the drought and Sierra Club lawsuits affecting the building of reservoir projects: Here in Colorado for instance we have been reading the papers during our visit, check out the seriousness: After the five driest consecutive years since record-keeping commenced, federal officials say Lake Powell, the 186-mile-long reservoir in Utah and Arizona, could go dry as early as 2007 if the drought persists. Source: Denver Post; April 4 ; http://www.denverpost.com/Stories/0,1413,36~23447~2059903,00.html and this one effecting the local Denver Suburbs, some of the best markets in the country for car washing: http://www.denverpost.com/Stories/0,1413,36%257E53%257E2063305,00.html and http://www.dailycamera.com/bdc/state_news/article/0,1713,BDC_2419_2774228,00.html . While the snowpack has been good what about the snow melt? Colorado's snowpack saw its most dramatic melt-off in a single month in March; statewide the state's snowpack, a primary indicator of fresh water supplies, is at 65 percent of normal. Source: Denver Rocky Mountain News; April 2 ; But will this be enough? The growth is still way up and what about fire season, it takes water too? Things are said to be drier than they ever where: http://www.rockymountainnews.com/drmn/state/article/0,1299,DRMN_21_2777153,00.html . The Bureau of Reclamation's claim that Glen Canyon Dam is essential to provide guaranteed water to downstream users is misleading, and a real study of the Colorado River's delivery system is even more important in times of drought. Christopher Peterson, Glen Canyon Institute; April 8; http://www.headwatersnews.org/stories/redirect.php?id=14762 . And traveling South last week in NM. We saw some water flows in the rivers, but not enough to do the trick; Early runoff and a dry March prompted warnings that New Mexico rivers likely will be running well below average this summer. Santa Fe New Mexican; April 8; http://www.headwatersnews.org/stories/redirect.php?id=14760 We also read in The Idaho Statesmen that emergency water policy makers are meeting in Boise. Meanwhile UT is doing a little better, in some parts, but not breaking any speed records: Last month was the worst on record in the state for disappearing snowpack, with much of the snowmelt seeping into the ground and not running off to feed reservoirs where levels are lower than last year. Salt Lake Tribune; April 9; http://www.sltrib.com/2004/Apr/04092004/utah/155542.asp . Snowfall was the third lowest in four decades in Idaho, and slowly melting snowpack was absorbed into the ground, decreasing runoff and lowering runoff predictions. Idaho Falls Post Register; April 9; http://www.headwatersnews.org/pr.drymarch040904.html . Montana is saying do not expect any miracles; A University of Montana researcher said shorter winters, earlier snowmelt, drier summers and ongoing drought are becoming more typical and are the result of long-term climate change. Source: Billings Gazette; April 8; http://www.billingsgazette.com/index.php?id=1&display=rednews/2004/04/08/build/state/25-climate-change.inc . Of course we have been discussing all this for about five years and not one major infrastructure project has been started? What do you do? http://www.parthe.net/_cwg0703/00000074.htm . The flow of water must be kept in line: http://www.parthe.net/_cwg1003/00000014.htm . Otherwise all the car washes will be put out of business, that would be a bad thing, http://www.carwashguy.com but in some ways we are ready for it since the Mobile Car Wash Guys Division only use a few gallons of water to wash an average size car. http://www.carwashguys.com . After all this issues is serious and it is a World Wide problem as we have discussed and look at the US issues in other states not yet mentioned in this brief weekly report of issues effecting the Car Wash Guys Business model and Periodic online newsletter: http://www.carwash.com/news.asp?mode=4&N_ID=46923 MA to strengthen it’s water policy for conservation, which will most likely include no home washing in Boston. http://www.telegram.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20040404/APN/404040577&cachetime=5 . This is nothing new as it is going on in many parts of the country. South West and CO. http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/Newsroom/NewImages/images.php3?img_id=16504 and we know fires take lots of water also. http://www.informz.net/clk/red4.asp?u=22813154&nh=117785 But it is not just these states in the South West and CO. Look at West TX, MT, WY, ND, SD, OK, NE, KS Some parts of the Carolina’s, Atlanta area also. http://www.informz.net/clk/red4.asp?u=22813154&nh=117793 . And as we discussed we are the experts in our industry and in the whole world on the cleanliness of the water which is a huge issue because a s the water supply goes down and the pollution stays the same there is more pollution per cubic meter of water in suspension. That is another issue. Glad to see we are appearing in various places for our BMPs for a clean environment http://eerc.ra.utk.edu/divisions/wrrc/BMP/NonStructBMPs/NS-04.doc . http://eerc.ra.utk.edu/divisions/wrrc/BMP/ns-04.pdf , http://www.pecva.org/conservation/funds/goosecreekfund/AppendixD.pdf and http://www.thesaurus-dictionary.com/files/w/a/s/washed.html and http://www.abcfundraising.com/?ref=a and this is good news as we are getting the word out to the industry. And it works too. The reason new water resources have not been built, I.E. Desalination plants and reservoirs is due to Lawyers for one, so it is appropriate to bag on lawyers here. So here is another lawyer joke. Question: Santa Claus, the tooth fairy, an honest lawyer and an old drunk are walking down a street together when they simultaneously spot a hundred-dollar bill. Who gets it? Answer: The old drunk, of course, the other three are mythological creatures. ------- and make that two since we let them off the hook and we did not tell a lawyer joke in last week in March 1997. Q: Why have scientists begun to use lawyers instead of lab rats for research? Answer: Two reasons: first, they are more plentiful than rats, second, the researchers don't get as attached to them. One problem, though, is that no one has been able to extrapolate the test results to human beings. -------- How bad are the Sierra Club and it’s lawsuit happy lawyers? Read this thought: http://www.parthe.net/_cwg0803/00000062.htm . People let’s face it we need fresh water for farming, livestock, drinking, lifestyle, cleanliness, hygiene and food safety. Let’s take just this one issue on Food Safety. After 9-11 we need to guard these things. But Really, How safe is the food supply? Here is an interesting white paper on the computerized software available to track food as part of the Bio Terrorism Issues. http://www.rossinc.com/documents/Ross_Food_Processor_White_Paper.pdf . Although this white paper fails to mention some of the behind the scenes issues in a few of the examples such as the example of Tyson and Hudson food merger and the hanky panky that went on due to the political influences it does have good information that is significant to helping us understand. We are seeing many new solution to keep our food safe, from mad cow and International Terrorism. These new technologies are costly, but water supplies are all part of these factor. RFID also has some answers available to us. But the costs are not cheap there and it takes a little while to implement meanwhile the GAO says we may in the future find more cases of Mad Cows here and other places. That itself is an issue with people switching to the Atkins diet. You see food safety issues kill more people in the twin towers per normal year without any major issues. 5800 die from e. Coli and another 12,000 in all other forms of bacteria, viruses and etc. So like automobile safety we lose lots of Americans to these things with or without any expired VISA Middle Eastern Islamic Radical Jihad-ists in pre-planted sleeper cells. And as the FBI warns about buses? Well then make them like a tank or like Monster truck bus: http://www.btransit.org/kids_stop/crazy_buses.html . Make them tough and run these bad guys over. We’ll wash anything? The Bus Wash Guys; http://www.BusWashGuys.com . There is lots of Bus Technology being used to make these things safer in Israel, UK and other parts as well. Bus technology is coming a long way too. http://www.parthe.net/_cwg1203/0000000f.htm and http://www.parthe.net/_cwg1203/0000000d.htm . Look at all the great research and innovation going on today, all we are doing in automotive, all the sensor technologies, so have a warning system. 25 feet way that goes off if anything weird approaches an alarm goes off, lots of ways to solve these problems in high risk areas. Here are just a few more technologies being introduced in the transportation sectors. http://www.parthe.net/_cwg1203/00000016.htm . That is all for this weeks newsletter to our team and ideas for the betterment of mankind. Any comments questions, hate letters, send them to Lance@carwashguys.com -----------------------------
