After researching the auto repair industry and what customers expect and deserve from a car repair shop, AAA today announced the opening of a new state-of-the-art repair facility, "AAA Car Care Plus" in Sacramento.

The second of a number of full-service AAA automotive repair and service centers, AAA Car Care Plus Sacramento is the first auto shop to be awarded California EPA's Certificate of Recognition as a "Model Pollution Prevention Facility."

AAA Car Care Plus offers a variety of key automotive services under one roof including: engine repair, scheduled maintenance on foreign and domestic vehicles, diagnostic inspections, pre-purchase evaluations, smog check/certification; brake, cooling system and air conditioning repair; wheel alignment, balance and tire rotation; quick oil change, auto detailing Hertz car rental, and a full-service car wash. The facility is staffed by fully certified technicians and is open to the public seven days a week.

"There is a clear need for a facility like this," said Mark Woods, General Manager, Car Care Plus, "Cars today have more on-board computer power than the Apollo moon mission spacecraft. Consumers have far less time, and there is a shortage of highly trained automotive technicians. AAA Car Care Plus offers the public the convenience of everything under one roof, a clean, comfortable environment, solid guarantees on service, and the trust and reliability you would expect from AAA."

Car owners at AAA Car Care Plus Sacramento can surf the Web or send e-mail for free, enjoy a hot latte, or watch their kids play games and learn traffic safety from the "Otto the Auto" children's area. All the work done at the Car Care Plus facility is guaranteed for 12 months or 12,000 miles. The center maintains a computerized database that can keep a complete service and repair history of customer vehicles. AAA members receive an extended warranty of 24 months or 24,000 miles, plus a ten-percent discount on all labor and packaged services.

In addition, the new facility offers:

-- Java Makers(R) Cafe--a full-service cafe, serving gourmet

coffee, hot meals and sandwiches, salads and snacks.

-- Free Internet Access--allowing customers to surf the Web or

check e-mail on their laptop computers.

-- Play Area--a children's space where kids can relax and learn

games, a reading area and video presentations.

-- Member Services--an extension of the local AAA offices,

offering travel and weekend getaway listings, rental cars, and

many DMV services.

AAA Car Care Plus is located at 49 Bicentennial Circle, Sacramento, one block east of Power Inn Road and Folsom Blvd. Hours of operation are weekdays: 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday: 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (for auto detailing and fast oil change)
