You know it sure makes a lot of sense for people to use re-refined oil. Think about it, The recieved oil is cleaned by way of a lengthy process in vacuum distilation, then it is hydro treated to remove any left chemicals or minerals, heavy metals though an ion-type reactionary process, then the oil has added to it an additive package by the blender to bring it up to the required specs. So then what is the difference? Well the problme comes when it is called Re-refined and customers and consumers think it is not as good, sure it is. But the legalites of the regulatory agencies want consumers to be aware that it is not virgin motor oil? Well virgin motor-oil is not virgin anyway, it has additives added and it comes from crude, which is about the only virgin in the reality of oil in the first place. Perhaps there needs to be a new title for this so at tleast the yuppie socialist 1970 volvo wagon sierra club owners will use it? Let's look at this even further. For the oil hit the market it must meet standards by the API-American Petroleum Industry Check out these links we found in our research: ------ http://api-ec.api.org/environ/index.cfm?objectid=FC399CFC-7CA7-11D5-BC6B00B0D0E15BFC&method=display_body&er=1&bitmask=001003003004000000 ---- and The Recycled Oil Non-profit Group http://www.recycleoil.org/ ---- so obviously all sides of this industy agree with me on this obvious issue. Who is causing the problem? The government and their stupid consumer rules and warnings. The name re-refined oil needs to change. ------ http://api-ec.api.org/about/index.cfm?objectid=DAC32552-7704-11D5-BC6A00B0D0E15BFC&method=display_body&er=1&bitmask=001002002002000000 ------ Look we collect the oil and we can re-use it, so why not reuse it? It is easier to re-refine than the original refining in the first place? Duh? The Federal government and many states require the use of re-refined motor oil in the vehicles. Also many transit districts do the same thing and actually can save a tiny amount for doing so now. Our mobile units if we do business with these agencies under contract have to have additional storage tanks on the unit for this re-refined oil taking up space, but when we try to sell this to our customers, they are not interesed, they think it is second rate, less effective and might have impurities in it? Not at all. Can't someone let people know? you know like a PBS Special program or something on the discovery channel, etc? Hell how about that liberal "All Thing Considered as long as they are liberal views" Radio Show? So much work has been done, but so much more to be done. Much efforts of API should be studied and duplicated in mass media: http://www.recycleoil.org/backup/About_us.htm Apparently no one trusts API because it is assoication industry led. But who better to undersand the problem? Certainly a bunch of num-skulls bureaucrats can't do any better, just cut down trees and study the obvious. Look at all the efforts which have been done: http://www.recycleoil.org/Usedoilflow.htm --------- God Bless this industry for working so hard to make things better for all of us, shouldn't we help them help us? Shouldn't government agencies and liberal doom and gloomers work with the industry instead of against it? California totally missed the mark on alerting the people in California to use re-refined oil, it was the worst program with recycling and oil in history. It is the state where the protestors come from and they cannot seem to muster up or get their act together.
