Due to an incredible PR Blitz Alberta Canada has been able to increase it's oil recycling program to 228 million litres in the last five years. The AUOMA-Alberta Used Oil Management Asscociation was able to increase the number by 500%. In 2001-2002 6 million oil filters were recycled or 86%. One litre of used motor oil in the water can contaminate nearly 1 million litres of water. Alberta has set up 600 collection facilites and stations throughout Alberta.
